I received a portable green screen today and did a quick test using my daughter as the subject. As she loves to play princess she dressed up and it was my task to put her in front of that cool castle š
I took some shots of her in front of the green screen using a Canon HV20 camcorder making sure there was some distance between her and the green screen as to minimize green spill later on. I shot the footage outside, using only natural light (the sun).
As I took some care while shooting the footage I needed I found it fairly easy pulling the key using the Keylight plug-in in After Effects. Below a frame from the final movie.
Although the portable green screen is great for certain situations, a full-sized green screen (3 x 6 meters or larger) is the way to go for serious applications.
